Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 (GT-P7300) Specifications
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 P7310 Android Tablet was launched in March 2011. It is running on the Nvidia Tegra 2 T20 processor with ULP GeForce GPU. The phone has 1GB RAM and 16/32/64 GB storage of internal storage which is not expandable.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 P7310 has a 8.9 inches WXGA, 800 x 1280 pixels PLS display with a pixel density of 170 ppi. Coming to cameras, it has a 3.15 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera for selfies. It has a microUSB port for data syncing and charging. There is a accelerometer sensor present on the Galaxy Tab 8.9 P7310. It is a single SIM smartphone with support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS too.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 P7310 runs on Android OS, v3.0 (Honeycomb), upgradable to v3.1 and all this is powered by a 6000 mAh battery. It measures 230.9 x 157.8 x 8.6 mm (height x width x thickness) with a total weight of 447.9 grams including battery.
Pre-Requisites
Make sure that :
- This will work on Galaxy Tab 8.9 (Don’t Try this on Any other device):
- Supported Model: GT-P7300
- Charge your phone up to 80% or 70%.
- You will lose the original ROM or any CUSTOM ROM if you already installed on your phone. So make sure to Backup your phone before doing this step using TWRP or CWM or any Custom Recovery.
- You must install TWRP or any Custom Recovery on your phone.
- Download all the Zip files from below and Place it in your phone’s root of internal memory.
Update Galaxy Tab 8.9 GT-P7300 to CM10 Rom
- Download the ROM zip file by clicking the links below. Save the file on your computer without extracting its contents.
- Download CM10 preview ROM for P7300.
- Download the Google Apps for Jelly Bean HERE. This file needs to be flashed in order to install the Google Now, Play store, Gmail and all other Google based apps, applications that you will need to use if you wish to benefit from the full Jelly Bean experience.
- Now move the files you download at the previous step on your device's internal sdcard. After that you will need to disconnect the phone from your PC and power it OFF.
- Boot into TWRP Recovery mode by pressing and holding 'power' + 'volume down' buttons simultaneously until the screen powers on. You will now see two icons on your tablet's display and you need to press Volume Down and then press Volume UP to load the TWRP Recovery menu.
- When in Recovery mode you will need to select 'wipe data/ factory reset' and confirm this operation. Please note that the sdcard won't be touched by the wipe data process. When this is complete move to the next step.
- Now select cm-11-20140717-2153-p5.zip file and confirm the installation.
- Next, repeat the step 6 and now install the GApps (ARM + 4.4 + Pico ) for Jelly Bean packaged. When you're done with installing Google Apps you will need to return to the main recovery screen.
- Select 'reboot system now' and your tablet will now start the first boot into Unofficial CyanogenMod preview build for Jelly Bean. Note that the first boot process will take at least 10 minutes to complete and you should wait until then. If the first boot takes over 15 minutes.
- If every thing went according to plan you will be shown the Jelly Bean home screen and you can enter your Google Account details to take control over your device.
File you Need
- Odin for install Custom Recovery TWRP in your tablet.
- You will need a custom recovery installed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 before you can upload your new ROM zip files from the list.
- You can choose to install Google Gapps on your Samsung Tab 8.9 if you want to have the Google stock apps.(https://opengapps.org)
