Install Lineage OS 14.1 Stable on Samsung S3 Mini GT-I8190 | Android Nougat 7.1.2

Features of LineageOS

LineageOS offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by mobile device vendors. Features supported by LineageOS include native theme support, FLAC audio codec support, a large Access Point Name list, Privacy Guard (per-application permission management application), support for tethering over common interfaces, CPU overclocking and other performance enhancements, unlockable bootloader and root access, soft buttons, status bar customisation and other “tablet tweaks”, toggles in the notification pull-down (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS), and other interface enhancements. LineageOS does not contain spyware or bloatware, according to its developers.LineageOS is also said to increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.

Pre-Requistes

As usual, there are a few steps to follow. Fortunately for us, the ease of installing LineageOS comes in part from the small number of prerequisites to installation. It is advisable for those who wish to keep their information to make a backup . So, to install LineageOS , you will need:

• A custom recovery like TWRP installed on the device
• First you need to backup all important data.
• You will loose the original ROM or any CUSTOM ROM if you already installed on your phone.
• Your Device At Least To 70-80% Charge for flashing.
• Download all the Zip files from below and Place it in your phone’s root of internal memory.

Note : 

This is an experimental and unofficial build. So, there could be some bugs/issues with this ROM which may not be suitable for daily usage. Install/flash this ROM to your device at your own risk.

Install LineageOS Using TWRP

1. Download and transfer the Lineage OS ROM and Gapps files to internal storage.
2. Boot your device into TWRP recovery. You can follow the video below how to enter recovery mode on your device.
3. In TWRP recovery, click on Wipe » Advanced Wipe. Do not select the option which reads ‘Internal Storage‘ at any cost, as it will wipe off EVERYTHING, including your custom ROM file.
4. Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on Install and select the Android Nougat-PIE-s3mini-i8190.zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
5. After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe to Confirm Flash on the bottom of the screen to begin the custom ROM installation process. This may take some time.
6. Once your custom ROM is successfully flashed, you’ll see Wipe cache/Dalvik option, select it and then do Swipe to wipe on the bottom of the screen.
7. Now flash the Lineage OS open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20201015.zip file similarly like you flashed the custom ROM file.
8. After flashing both custom ROM and Gapps files, reboot your device.
