If you are still on ICS or Jelly Bean with your Galaxy Tab 10.1, it’s probably the time to consider updating to latest Android 4.4.4 .

For this purpose, you can try Omni ROM, which is closest custom ROM you will find to stock Android 4.4.4.

Also, Omni ROM brings several features to the table including customization options for your status bar, quick settings, navigation bar, Power Menu, and some more. You will also find Active Display, OmniSwitch, and some more.

For tweaking performance, you can use Omni ROM’s built-in Performance menu to overclock up to 1.6Ghz. However, I find Tab 10.1 running the fastest at around 1.4Ghz.

Pre-Requisites

1. This will work on Samsung Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 (Don’t Try this on Any other device):
2. Charge your phone up to 80% or 70%.
3. Download the latest Samsung USB Drivers.
4. You will lose the original ROM or any CUSTOM ROM if you already installed on your phone. So make sure to Backup your phone before doing this step using TWRP or CWM or any Custom Recovery.
5. You can also backup all your Data.
6. You must install TWRP or any Custom Recovery on your phone.
7. Download all the Zip files from below and Place it in your phone’s root of internal memory or to SD Card.

•  Rooting your phone will void the warranty.
•  Make sure to take the complete backup of your phone before starting this process.
•  Rooting your phone can damage your phone permanently.

Warning:

Steps to Be Followed

Step 1: Download  OMNI Custom ROM packages from downloads section to your PC. Do not unzip the packages.

Step 2: Connect Samsung Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 to PC using an USB cable.

Step 3: Transfer the downloaded packages into the root of phone or SD card memory.

Step 4: Once the transfer is done, disconnect the USB and turn off the Samsung Tab 10.1 GT-P7500.

Step 5: Enter custom recovery mode on Samsung Tab 10.1 GT-P7500.

Turn on the device by holding Volume up + Power buttons together until you see the recovery mode.

Step 6: In custom recovery mode, you can view a list of options which are not available in Stock recovery. Among them, find and select wipe data/factory reset. 

Step 7: Now perform a complete data wipe by selecting wipe cache partition.

Step 8: Once done, enter advanced options in recovery mode and select wipe dalvik cache.

Step 9: If you are done with all the above steps, you can flash the firmware package now. Select omni-4.4.4-20140620-p4-HOMEMADE. Confirm the installation and do not interrupt the process. 

Step 10: After completion follow Step 9 again and choose pa_gapps-modular-micro-4.4.4-20140629-signed package in this case.

Step 11: Once the packages installation is completed, select reboot system now option.
