To Install Android 7.1.2 Nougat on Samsung galaxy Tab E 9.6 or any Custom ROM, your phone must have TWRP Recovery or any custom Recovery installed. If you don’t have one, then first install Custom Recovery on your Samsung galaxy Tab E 9.6.
DotOS is a Nougat based custom ROM which is popular for its custom-made features from all CM, Lineage, Slim, Omni AOSPA, etc. Follow the given guide to install Android 7.1.2 Nougat ROM on SM-T560 . Please note that this ROM is not officially released by the company but just a custom ROM, built from Android Open Source Code. So you may expect some minor bugs or not functioning features in it. Pre-Requisites
- This will work on Samsung galaxy Tab E 9.6 SM-T560 (Don’t Try this on Any other device):
- Charge your phone up to 80% or 70%.
- Download the latest Samsung USB Drivers
- You will lose the original ROM or any CUSTOM ROM if you already installed on your phone. So make sure to Backup your phone before doing this step using TWRP or CWM or any Custom Recovery.
- You can also backup all your Data.
- You must install TWRP or any Custom Recovery on your phone.
- Download all the Zip files from below and Place it in your phone’s root of internal memory or to SD Card.
Before Start Custom Update Firmware Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
- Backup Apps and SMS messages, Contacts, Google Data,WhatsApp Messages Pictures and Videos.
- Make sure your Android device is charged up to 60-70% battery level.
- USB drivers installed for the Samsung Galaxy.
- make sure model number (SM-T560).
- Download the Custom firmware or rom file in download section Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 (WiFi) (SM-T560) .
How to Install Dot OS V4 on Galaxy Tab E 9.6 Wifi
- Download and transfer the Dot OS ROM and Gapps files to internal storage or to SD Card.
- Boot your device into TWRP recovery. You can simply Google how to enter recovery mode on your device.
- In TWRP recovery, click on Wipe » Advanced Wipe. Here select the following options shown in the screenshot below. select All except ‘Internal Storage‘ .
- Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on Install and select the T560_DOTOS_v4.zip file that you transferred to your device.
- After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe to Confirm Flash on the bottom of the screen to begin the custom ROM installation process. This may take some time.
- Once your custom ROM is successfully flashed, you’ll see Wipe cache/Dalvik option, select it and then do Swipe to wipe on the bottom of the screen.
- Now flash the open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20201027.zip file similarly like you flashed the custom ROM file.
- After flashing both custom ROM and Gapps files, reboot your device.
