As the build is custom, the device is to be rooted before flashing ROM and further risks may be involved in installation process. If you are ready to update Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 to Android 5.1.1 Nougat, do follow the below prerequisites to safeguard your personal data and to ensure successful installation.

AOSP stands for Android Open Source Project which is source tree which released by Google to the developer to work on Android OS. Thanks to Android Open Source Project team for bringing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM for Google Galaxy Tab 8.9 (GT-P7300).

This step by step guide can be applied only for the up mentioned tablets and not for similar ones. The update isn’t coming from Samsung and has nothing to do with the company, so it’s not an official software. This means that you can brick your devices if you are not paying attention; just ensure you are following the lines from this tutorial and everything should be just fine. Furthermore, don’t skip parts or sections as you might regret it afterwards. During the next lines I will be showing you the pre requisites, the features of the ROM, the things that aren’t working for your tablet and how you can prevent from losing personal info after updating the Tab.

After Samsung’s great success with their Galaxy Series of mobile phones now their Tablets are also doing great in the market. It all started out with their first Tablet, Galaxy Tab 8.9 which came with on board Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
Samsung released the Galaxy Tab 8.9 P7300 in 2011 with access to Android 3.0 Honeycomb out-of-the-box. Given the tablet's powerful hardware configuration (dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor ), the mobile operating system onboard seemed a bit underpowered.
Recently, the tablet maker released Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) official firmware for the ageing device. Discerning users would be disappointed that Samsung will not be releasing the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean firmware for the tablet anytime soon.
Nevertheless, Galaxy Tab 8.9 users can now relish the custom ROM
